whatever your ability, City of Milton Keynes Swim Club has a programme for you

A GROUP of 39 swimmers, from City of Milton Keynes Swim Club and selected members of Linslade Crusaders SC, competed in the Richard Early Cup Gala at Witney. This event consists entirely of relay events and featured five clubs from around the area. The positions were closely fought but the performance from the CMK team was very impressive, especially at this early stage of the season. There were plenty of wins across the age groups, bringing big cheers from the supporting fans, with the highlight being a rousing victory in the final cannon relay - with eight girls and eight boys swimming in age ascending order. The evening saw the CMK/Crusaders team win 21 of the 41 events securing overall second place to Hillingdon SC, one of the best performing clubs in the region. Team manager Gail Ashley said: “All the swimmers involved swam out of their skins and there was great team spirit throughout the evening, well done to everyone involved and a fantastic cannon win!”

Younger members of the club were also in action recently in the final of the Junior League, Division Two. Here the team faced awesome competition from a strong team from Guildford and also took on Chalfont, Harrow and Wellingborough at Chiltern Pools in Chesham. Some great swims were recorded by CMK, especially by those making their debut for the club in this league but also by the older more experienced team members. The Junior League, which comprises three rounds across the season, sees those aged nine to 12 racing in both individual and relay events. The end result saw a delighted CMK gain third place overall.
