City of Milton Keynes Swim Club qualified for the National Arena League after winning the East Midlands final last December. The National final was held in Cardiff on Sunday 9 April.
Forty Swimmers aged 11 years and over competed in 50 events, racing against the other top nine teams in England and Wales.
This was the first time CMK made it this far in the competition and the excitement was shared by the swimmers and in the gallery where they were supported by parents and volunteers dancing and chanting throughout the meet.
In the pool CMK swimmers swam well and maintained their pre-meet ranking of ninth out of the ten competing teams. The only individual win came from Jamie Hanss in the 13yrs 100m Freestyle, but there were strong performances throughout the competition.
CMK swimmers are now switching focus to individual performances with 4 swimmers preparing for the British Championships in Sheffield (week commencing 17 April), while many of the group focus on the Regional Championships later in the month.
