As the Open Water season comes to a close three City of Milton Keynes Swimming Club swimmers are celebrating success in events this summer. Success for Bethany Barby and Emma Joyce competing in the Galeforce Mass Start Series at Bedford, both achieving gold medals – Bethany in the 1500m and Emma in the 3.8k.
Emma then went on to take part in the Great London Swim and with over 2000 competitors was the first lady home and a very creditable 7th overall.
Christian Revell joined Bethany and Emma in the Open Water race; the Southsea Pier to Pier 2k enduring torrential rain and choppy seas. Despite the hazards, Emma and Christian both finished in first place and Bethany fourth in their respective age groups.
Earlier in the season, Bethany took part in her first ever Open Water event, the Brighton 1k and claimed 4th place; Christian and Emma both took silver at the Eastbourne Maritime 2k Championships
