Some twenty swimmers from City of Milton Keynes Swimming Club competed at the South East England Championships in Crawley and Guildford recently. CMK put in a brilliant performance with the majority of swimmers setting personal bests and a number stepping up onto the podium. This was despite some swimmers missing with injury or illness. Overall CMK took an outstanding 14 gold medals, the most golds won by any competing club.
Gold medal winners were: Tom Flaherty (200m, 400m Free); Max Murphy (100m, 200m, 400m and1500m Free); Oliver Lines (200m Fly) Charlotte Evans (50m, 100m, 200m Backstroke); Isobel Jones (200m,400m Free); Joss Ulyett (100m Breaststroke) and the Women’s' 4x100m Medley Team (Joss, Charlotte, Isobel and Emily Jones). In total, the team set five new county records.
There were also excellent performances in the Men’s relay teams where both Medley and Freestyle teams were on track to qualify for the National Championships in August.
